What is ACT and what is its importance in applying to universities?

What is the ACT test?

The ACT is an entrance test in most American universities. If you are a recent high school graduate or even a bachelor\\\\\\\’s degree student and want to study at American universities, you will hear a lot about this test.
The word (ACT) is an acronym for (American College System), which is a test required by all American universities with four years at the undergraduate level and is required in about 225 universities outside the United States.

What does the ACT test consist of?

The test consists of 4 sections plus an optional section:

1- English Language: This section consists of about 75 questions spread over 45 minutes in English language skills.

2- Mathematics: This section consists of 60 questions and has a duration of 60 minutes in mathematics such as trigonometry, algebra, planar geometry, and more.

3- Reading: It consists of 40 questions that the student answers in 35 minutes.

4- Science: It consists of 40 questions that the student answers in about 35 minutes.

5- Writing: It is an optional section whose score is not added to the test, but it may be required by some universities, and its duration is 40 minutes.

The scores for each section range from 1 to 36.
